MSNBC Dateline exposes scamming air duct cleaners

Recently MSNBC Dateline ran a Hansen Files segment exposing unscrupulous companies advertising $49.95 whole house air duct cleaning. Unfortunately, many companies that run ads with such low prices are actually bait-and-switch artists who charge a great deal more than the advertised price once they get in the home. Click on this link to see the segment. There are plenty of honest air duct cleaning companies out there, like Safety King, who charge what they say they are going to charge and who do high quality work. To avoid this kind of scam, step one is to be sure you’re dealing with a firm properly licensed in your state and one that is a member of a national organization like NADCA or the DCN.
