New Safety King Video at YouTube
Safety King has posted another new video on YouTube which you can view by clicking this link. This video is about a very useful product we sell to our customers called the LintAlert Dryer Safety Alarm. The device is installed on the dryer duct behind the dryer and measures pressure inside the duct. As lint collects inside the duct, airflow is restricted and the pressure in the duct rises. When the pressure reaches an unsafe level, the alarm will activate, indicating maintenance is required. There is also a link to the YouTube video on the Dryer Duct Cleaning page at our safetyking.com website.
Clean The Lint Screen on Your Dryer!
Here’s a friendly tip: Be sure to clean the lint screen on your dryer every single time you dry a load of clothes. This is because the risk of a dryer fire is a lot higher than most people think. Believe it or not, clothes dryer fires account for almost 16,000 structure fires each year in our country, causing 400 injuries and, tragically, 15 deaths. The stakes really are that high, so take no chances, clean out that lint screen! These numbers, by the way, come from a pamphlet published by FEMA of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. If you’re worried about how much lint might already be in the dryer duct leading to the outside, call on us to clean it out and give you a fresh start. For most homes it’s $105 for this service.
Don’t Neglect Your Dryer Duct!
Your dryer duct is easy to overlook, but it can represent a real danger to you and your family. Dryer fires due to dryer ducts plugged by lint are among the most common causes of almost 13,000 of the residence fires in this country, killing 15 people and injuring 300 annually. “Failure to clean” is the leading cause of these fires.
